I was so excited when I got Henry’s request to photograph his proposal to his girlfriend, Sophie. Immediately I started coming up with ideas for a great location. Sophie and Henry have been together eight years and are the sweetest! They’ll be tying the knot and are considering an awesome barn setting in Maine – um, yes, I mentioned that I like Maine, barns, traveling, and the two of them after we finished their shoot. I mean, how could anyone NOT want to photograph their wedding. Clearly it will be full of sweet family moments, genuine emotion, and great style!
Look at these guys cheesin’ after the big moment – oh and after Sophie realized I wasn’t just there to take photos of my friend Krisse and her dog, Lucy! (Thanks Krisse!)
After the excitement went down about half a notch, we started on some portraits. The joy is so great in these images, I love how pure and raw the emotions are following the proposal and how we were able to capture it. Meanwhile, I did get soaking wet, but we survived and got some great shots! #cameraup!
You guys, I am just loving you in black and white. Can’t explain it. You look good.
Possibly cutest thing ever was when Mom and Grandma (Henry’s) came strutting up the boardwalk with a rolling bag and whispering, “They’re right behind us!” I found out that the bag contained a sweet little picnic for everyone to share, including some vintage Dom! They sat to enjoy a few bites and then it was on to MORE pics!
It’s tough when your clients look like supermodels. :sigh: Extra bonus is when they’re brave!
I truly enjoyed this session and how loving Henry’s Mom and Grandma were in their participation. They made a surprise cute banner and were there to hang out and celebrate afterward.
I hope one day I’m as cute of a grandma as Henry’s!
It was so nice, I had a hard time leaving – and I’m glad because look at the sunset shots I got at the end!! <3
