Southwood House Tallahassee Wedding Photography

My strongest memory of Cecil is in Gainesville, Florida at some sort of crazy bike race that David participated in whilst wearing his UPS uniform. That’s the first time I knew that I really liked him and that he was “our kind of people”. Cecil is just one of those very genuine people that makes a lasting impression. Not only that, Cecil is incredibly positive and strives to create an atmosphere of togetherness wherever he is. His friends and family are incredibly important to him and there was no day it was more apparent than on his wedding day.

Cecil took Jessica on a trip to Paris to propose to her. He loves photography so much that he hired a professional to take gorgeous shots of them all around Paris and even took Jessica to get her hair and makeup done beforehand. Those photos were the first time I “met” Jessica. Wow. Jessica looks like she just stepped out of a vintage issue of Vogue. She’s gorgeous with dark hair, sparkling eyes, and ridiculously amazing dimples. And to top it off, she has a classy style that perfectly balances the classic with the bold. Meeting Jessica in person was the confirmation that she is perfect for Cecil. Jessica is creative, calm, strong, smart, and knows resolutely what is most important to her. And there was no better illustration of all these things than on her wedding day.

Jess & Cecil, thank you for inviting us to be part of your wedding day. It was truly a beautiful experience for us and for your guests. From the charming historic location, handmade ribbon arch, carefully selected vintage dresses, grandma’s pearls, and classic rings to the thoughtful wedding gifts (see gorgeous vintage lace dress below), personal vows, a sister duet with ukelele, homemade southern comfort food, and a surprise father daughter dance, our hearts couldn’t help but invest and come away richer than we arrived. <3

Jess’s take on her wedding day, “Cecil and I are a low-maintenance couple. Dating was simple and meaningful; and being together just made sense. We knew this was the way only way we wanted our wedding. We made sure that in whatever we planned, it would incorporate as many things and people that were important to us as possible. This included having a small ceremony with 50 friends and family and a family-style dinner to follow at the reception. From my new mother-in-law’s comfort food cooking to the sparkler send off; it was the warmest start to our happily ever after.”

And Cecil agrees, “We have never felt like we were trying in our relationship; everything seemed to fall into place and work perfectly. Even planning the wedding seemed to happen naturally because we trusted our friends and family with all the details. People would often say to us, ‘It’s her [Jess’] day’, but we didn’t see it that way. For us, it was everyone’s day. Everyone’s time to come together and see us join our lives forever. We will always recall our joyful wedding with the memory of our closest friends and family near to our heart.”

Jemma, what a beautiful and unique wedding. What I love is that you captured all of the little special details of the wedding and reception, plus the love and joy in the faces. Wonderful!

Victoria & Bill were always about the details and the love. Ever since we met them last year, we’ve been looking forward to spending their wedding day with them and their families. That’s right, not just the photos and the cute accessories, gorgeous gown, lovely venue, but most of all, the people. They’re the kind of folks you want to get to know and hang out with. Bill brings a calm Southern charm to every situation. Victoria has a keenness for life and for family that’s contagious. Just a positively joyful couple to be around. So it was no surprise that when it was a muggy, rainy day, & the ceremony had to be moved inside – both the nearly-weds were calm and excited for their day, just looking forward to being together, getting married, and spending time with their friends and family. I’ll tell you what, THAT is what makes the BEST photos. And it is what gets us excited to do our jobs. Thanks V&B! It was just as fantastic as we expected!

Sundy House Delray Beach Wedding Photography

Jamie & Ryan got married at the lovely Sundy House in Delray Beach – one of our favorite venues. It was no surprise that all of Jamie’s accessories were beautifully coordinated with her vintage wedding theme. Dusky hues were paired with a brilliant rich peacock blue and it was just the perfect taste of elegance for a lovely garden wedding. Jamie’s daughter was excited to help her mom through the day and looked adorable in her little heels and dress. Jamie & Ryan enjoyed a private first look photo session, where they got to see each other for the first time and spend some one on one time together before all the festivities started. Once the party started, it was fun for all. The food, as usual, at Sundy House was amazing, and the cake was delicate and beautiful. Thanks for having us, J&R! <3

Jupiter Lighthouse Wedding Eastpointe Country Club Reception

It only took us a few minutes to realize that Kris & Kalyn are our kind of people. We had them over to talk about their wedding and our photography and it was clear from the beginning that we were going to have a blast together. Kalyn & Kris put together an adorable nautical-inspired wedding at the Jupiter Lighthouse. Everything was navy and lime green and paid tribute to the theme wherever possible, from the bowties to the Jcrew pumps in white and navy stripe. The table numbers each featured a beautiful image of a lighthouse and grosgrain ribbons decorated the tables. Such a fantastically preppy affair, we loved it. And how can you resist a ring-bearer in a seersucker suit? You just can’t. That’s the answer. No. As if that wasn’t enough, K&K hired the fantastic KillBillies to play music before, during, and after their ceremony. It was hard not to do a little dance, in fact, K&K did! Right before they enjoyed a custom brew created by a dear friend just for their wedding! And may I just say? Working with a fantastic wedding planner made our day go so smoothly. Thanks, Desiree!

Enjoy! <3 Jem
